FAQ's
Do you provide transport to the airport?
Yes, we provide courtesy transport to/from
the airport from both Queenstown and Te Anau
bases. Hotel pick-ups are generally ½
hour prior to your flight departure time.
Why do I need to call you to check on the
weather before my flight?
Milford Sound and the Fiordland region have
an average annual rainfall of 7-8 metres (300inches),
and to get there we fly over the Southern Alps.
As with all mountainous areas, the weather here
is changeable, so it is important you to call
us 1 hour prior to your flight departure time
to make sure the weather is suitable.
We fly only when the weather is good enough
for us to provide you with a great scenic flight.
What should I take on my flight to Milford
Sound?
You will need to take a camera (with lots of
memory space or extra rolls of film!), sunglasses,
some insect repellent and a jacket. Generally,
the temperature in Milford Sound is similar
to that in Queenstown and Te Anau.
What are the minimum and maximum passenger
numbers?
The minimum number of passengers required for
a flight is 2 adults. We can carry a maximum
of 6 passengers per aircraft (thus ensuring everyone has a window seat). Larger groups
are split between aircraft.
What about luggage?
You can take a small bag with you on the flight.
If you have a wheelchair, or baby buggy, please
let us know when you are booking and we will
make arrangements for these items to be carried
on the aircraft. Please keep hand luggage to
a maximum of 5kg.
I am flying in on a hiking/hunting trip.
What can I pack in my backpack?
If you are carrying in cooking gas canisters
or firearms, let us know when you make your
booking, and we will email you instructions
for carrying these goods. Please pack light
(try and keep packs to around 15kg in weight)
and have all packs labelled. Your pilot will
require you to weigh your pack prior to flight
departure.
